Update - from Norway - the Goofball report

This is the new and improved Matthew! Matthew has taken kindly to his Grade 2 classes at Folkestad School. His teacher Miss Ingjerd goes to our church, so we see quite a bit of her and her family each week. They also live close by to us. Within walking distance.

Matthew is a whole head taller than Rebecca now. He's TALL! With his new eyeglasses he just got in January, he looks like a very cool young man! He's speaking Norwegian now. He never did learn to read English, but he can read it now! Both Norwegian and English. He can read both too. Matthew is having lots of help in the realm of continuing his Cranialfacial program that he was in at Childrens National Medical Center in Washington, DC.

Matthew is now playing soccer in a local team and is doing VERY, VERY well! He is a GREAT soccer player (or as they say here, fotbal player). He LOVES math and can do most of Rebecca's math in third grade!

From Matthew himself: Hello Uncle Tom, Aunt Sue, Jenny, Snoopy, Aunt Kim, Uncle Jimmy and the kids and oh yeah, I miss Charlie! I miss everyone.......wish you were here with me or around the corner. (Matthew really misses Charliebear!!!)

Update on Matthew

Yes, it's been awhile, but we are slowly catching up. Matthew has done so well in school. He's come along way in speech class. Mind you, he still can't make certain sounds yet, but we have shifted his IEP (individualized Education Plan) to match his sounds that need more work on. He's doing great.

Matthew has also been learning some Norwegian. As hard as that may sound, he's taking to it pretty well. Again, he can't do some sounds, but he's doing well. Since his Besta was here last Thanksgiving to New Year's, she taught him some words too. He's quite happy to be moving, eventually.

Matthew has really excelled in sports and in Cubbies. Cubbies is our church's kid's activity on Wednesday nights. He is one year behind Rebecca. He has alot of his badges already. He loves it when he gets one.

Matthew loves Pre-K. He loves his class and his teacher. He knows he may not go to this same school next term, but he looks forward to the future. He's an awesome boy.
